Friday Faves ...

Perpetual Calender by erinzam on etsy

What a lovely idea and great way to get the kids learning the months of the year. You fill in the back of the tags with the appropriate dates so it is not year specific, a wonderful gift idea. Have a great weekend.xx

Etsy Find

Love this simple ink  and watercolour - A Bit of Paris from Artquirk on - this is  a postcard reproduction however the originals are also available. I love the imperfections and movement you get from this medium, I could sit and stare for hours - though I would really rather be sitting at one of those tiny table under the canopy along the Seine.

Tuesday Bookclub

via Howstuffworks on ‘How to create a Home Library’

Off to bookclub tonight and very keen to hear what everyone thought of Little White Slips by Karen Hitchcock. Short stories, high anxiety levels, empathetic (?) humour. Interesting reading, looking forward to our next book.

Friday Faves ...

left - image via right - can't find source of image however would love it if someone knows
I'd say nice chest but I'd be afraid you'd slap me - I love the way some people can assemble found items just so. I am far too clumsy, though the image on the right is sort of the feel I am trying to create in our guest room. I have found my grandmother's beautiful wedding gown and my mum and my aunts first communion and  christening dresses and would love to hang them on display. The children's dresses are all hand smocked by my grandmother so I would love to keep them where they will be appreciated. I will post them when I finally get them here.

It's definitely autumn

image via flickr

The weather is actually almost seasonal, who would have thought. I think we are so used to really hot and then shots of really cold, we have possibly forgotton there are seasons such as spring and autumn - now if we just had the clear skies.

I love a museum

papilon journey by almond tree frames via

We spend a lot of time at the museum so when I saw this I immediately thought of The Butterfly Man of Kuranda at the Queensland Museum. Amazing exhibition the detail and patience involved in the completing the displays is overwhelming and the results are so very beautiful.

Ebay Away!

My two latest Ebay buys - a little wicker table for the deck and place for our "stones from the Mediterranian" between deckies from Rockett St George and a little blue side table to house goggles, watering cans and pride of place our bean plant proudly grown at prep. Piece by piece we find our way. x

Little Girls

I have two boys however I may just have to buy this dress anyway and hang it above my desk, too cute and reversible to boot.  If only my own dresses were so versatile, I would save a fortune!x

I'm still here, never really went away - just decided to sit back and observe for a bit. That's done now so time to move forward, if you'll have me. x
