The ever generous Amanda from Urban Dweller at Samford has offered me a spot outside her shop for a little www.mintandlime.com.au pop-up stall. I will be there from 9-12pm this Saturday. I do not have a mobile eftpos set up yet :-( soon though, so if you do like something and do not have cash we can work something out I am sure.

have such a positive effect on me, they make me feel calm and happy...strange isn't it. I have as many as possible around my home at all times. Do you like the Native Gardenia's below, they smell beautiful and are straight from the garden. Lovely :-) hope they make you smile too.

Whipped these are these up this afternoon, they are scrum-diddly-umptious and courtesy of the Woman's Weekly Cookbook for Kids no less, perfect for the lunchbox.
It is an all in one mix it together type of mix.
1 1/2 cups wholemeal self raising flour
1/2 cup sugar (I have used agave syrup before, they are a little less bouncy)
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
1 cup of yoghurt ( I go for the yummy Greek stuff)
1 cup of fresh or frozen raspberries
100g white choc buttons
Mix together quickly and cook on moderate until golden on top.

Here are the results

I've been a feeling a little seasonal lately and have been working on this festive little series of precious things. I have a few in the series, including a couple of necklaces, a few variations of earrings and bracelets. A little colour can always put a smile on my face.

I have also been playing with the idea of gold leaf and papier mache bowls. This is my very first prototype. A little work to do, I think it needs a few more layers for sturdiness and I might experiment with cutting a little lower, however I quite like the organic shape. I thought I might try to put a few together in green and silver leaf for the Boutique Markets to hold the mint and lime pieces. Do you like?

Hazy, Hazy Days

It was such a hot day today and there are grass fires everywhere at the moment. This was our view as we arrived home yesterday - the smoke haze hasn't lifted, it was here again at five this morning.

Multi tasking, sort of ish

A shot of my desk today, as I was trying to work on some form of marketing strategy for www.mintandlime.com.au whilst applying the first coat of acyrlic to the first of a series of papier mache bowls I am making, whilst sorting the 140 silver links I have for a new necklace I needed to solder this afternoon. Shockingly I did not spill any water from the paint bowl or my coffee over the whol kit and caboodle. However just to mix the day up a little buster got his head stuck in a steel grid in the fence (fortunately I managed to manipulate it out again without the rural fire brigade, JUST!) snowy emerged covered in cobbler's pegs and a friendly tick or two from head to toe, running late on my way to the school Italian concert I had to pull  over whilst talking to my lovely friend Samantha and shake off a huge paralysis tick of my frock, though proceeded to scratch the entire concert as I couldn't shake the feeling.
Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings.

Designer Markets

Apologies, computer issues this week have driven me crazy. I have been sitting in front of a computer that will not load, with my ipad and iphone trying to get some work done. I definitely need to get a bit more techy on how to intergrate all three and/or save up for a little laptop.
I have a bit of work today, I need to photograph and listed the top item - I am also thinking a bracelet would be lovely - and I need to solder the rings on the blue babies below.
Also I have these lovely piece of silver below just waiting to be worked.
News also, I have signed up for the Designer Markets in King George Square in Brisbane on 24th November. Would love to have some visitors, am a little nervous having to sell to actual people. It will be good experience, yes it will, I will have to practice some chat before I get there.

Please welcome the newest members of our family Snowy and Buster. Please excuse the photos they would not stop moving.  They are ...ahem..... brothers... yes, true, such is the cavoodle mix. Buster must also be excused as he has had a significant clip due to a nasty tick and visit to the vet last week. We are hoping he will get his mojo back as his coat grows, it has all been a little Sampson and Delilah since his return.
In exciting news they slept until 5am this morning, fifteen minutes later than last week, and half an hour later than the last eight weeks. Oh puppy love!

Does it get any better

Following his first day on his dad's longboard we he stood on his first wave, our six year old decided he was ready for surf lessons
Despite the photos, it was a windy cold day and the surf was like a washing machine

There was a really strong sweep and not another surfer in sight.
 However onward and

yes upward on his second time on a board

his instructor discussed how to read the waves and so on, but said he wouldn't mess with his style as he had aced it.
6 year old's final say was that when he grew up he would be a soccor player, scientist and a surfer - his instructor Shane, said that sounded like a fine plan.

Late Night Visitor

We had a late night visit from this big boy on Sunday night. He was the biggest green frog I have seen for a very long time. Desperate for water I should imagine. We have run out of water now, one end of the house is completey dry and we have just enough left to brush teeth this morning up the other end, thankfully for water carrier arrives today with a fresh load. Fingers crossed, webbed or otherwise,  for rain soon. x

So Much to Do

I have been very preoccupied lately and the first thing to give is the blog - the problem is I enjoy this process and am hoping to use this a a chart of progress for my design adventures, sooooooo... I need to prioritise or perhaps schedule my days a little better. Between renovating, moving in moving out, two new puppies and building up stock for my new venture in addition to everyday living, exercise children etc my Sunday weekly scheduling has been more a list of good intentions than an actual plan.  Good news is I will launch my new site on Sunday night for better or worse. I tried to do the whole kit and kaboodle myself so anticipate this will be something of an organic process. I hope we can ride the roller coaster together. Would love to hear any feedback good bad or otherwise, it's the only way to learn really. Here is a sneak peak of some of my pieces to be listed - www.mintandlime.com.au will launch Sunday night, will keep you posted xx
